The Two Bays Trust’s “You Good?” campaign aims to inspire communities to look after each other by encouraging people to check in with family, friends and colleagues, and ask…
Simple Gesture, Immediate Impact…
Checking in on someone's mental health is a very easy, yet powerful intervention. Simply asking someone, “You Good?” can provide crucial early detection for any issues, can help to normalise seeking support, can combat isolation by showing you care, and can help to strengthen a sense of community. Small struggles can be prevented from becoming overwhelming crises through consistent, non-judgmental care and open communication. It's a simple act of human connection that reminds people that they matter and they aren't alone, helping to reduce vulnerability and foster resilience, in a world that often glorifies busyness over wellbeing.
To quote Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson:
“The power of checking in on our loved ones, friends and even strangers’ mental health can mean the world of a difference, if they’re struggling. And if you’re struggling, spinning, wobbly and just can’t quite catch your breath - you gotta reach out and ask for help.
It’s ok, to say you’re not ok.
Keep checking in on each other and let’s reach out to our tribe when we start to struggle and spin.
Love U”

The power of asking, "You Good?":
Reduces Stigma & Shame: People often hide their mental health struggles due to fear of judgment, making them feel isolated and preventing help-seeking; we aim to normalise the conversation.
Promotes Early Intervention: By encouraging simple, regular check-ins, we want to help identify distress early, enabling connections to support before problems become severe.
Builds Supportive Networks: We want to empower friends, family, and colleagues to become part of the support system, fostering stronger informal networks.
Increases Understanding: We aim to educate people on mental health, stress management, and how to support others, increasing overall community knowledge.
Breaks Down Barriers: We will create spaces and tools for confidential access to help, especially for harder-to-reach groups.
Combats Misconceptions: We will challenge the idea that people should just "deal with it", highlighting that mental health struggles are common and require attention.
…and The Two Bays Trust wants to do all this in Cornwall’s stunning, nurturing, natural environment.
The Two Bays Trust is a community-run charity, committed to supporting those who would benefit from taking part in activities in the natural environment, as an alternative to clinical provision from traditional mental health services. We aim to tackle social isolation, stress, anxiety and other forms of mental ill health by nurturing a sense of community and belonging, and bolstering resilience.

Here are a few follow-up questions you could try…
How are you feeling today, really? Physically and mentally.
What’s taking up most of your headspace right now?
When was your last full meal, and have you been drinking enough water?
How have you been sleeping?
What have you been doing for exercise?
What did you do today that made you feel good?
What’s something you can do today that would be good for you?
What’s something you’re looking forward to in the next few days?
What’s something we can do together this week, even if we’re apart?
What are you grateful for right now?
You don’t need to be an expert, you just need to be there to listen and support.
