"Walking in nature inspires the mind and heals the soul."

Thursday on the Beach
12th March 1.30pm-3.30pm
19th March 1.30pm-3.30pm
26th March 1.30pm-3.30pm
“Spending time in nature is like having a reset button for your brain."
Around 10 million tons of litter enter the ocean every year, endangering wildlife and the planet. Join us on the beach in beautiful Port Quin to remove dangerous plastics and other detritus from the marine environment. We’ll hopefully uncover some rock pool species too!
Friday Coastal Crafts
13th March 2pm-4pm
20th March 2pm-4pm
27th March 2pm-4pm
"Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time."
In today’s technology-driven world, it's easy to get caught up in the whirlwind of daily stress and forget the simple joys that bring peace and fulfilment. One such joy is creativity, especially through arts and crafts. Come and have a go at whatever you fancy, or feel free to bring in a project of your own..
What to bring…
If you are joining our Wednesday Walks, or the Thursday on the Beach sessions, please bring:
Wet weather gear
Wellies
Water bottle
Snacks or packed lunch
Sun cream
For the Friday Coastal Crafts sessions, we have LOTS of materials at our Coastal Centre which you are welcome to use.
However, if you have a crafting project you are currently working on, please feel free to bring that with you.
Please bring a water bottle and any snacks you might need.
Wednesday Walks

11th March 1.30pm-3.30pm
18th March 1.30pm-3.30pm
25th March 1.30pm-3.30pm
Wednesday Walks are a chance for you to immerse yourself in the stunning coastal environment of North Cornwall. Reap the benefits of spending time overlooking the wild and rugged, and occasionally tranquil, Celtic Sea, and explore the history and wonder of this valuable and unspoilt Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Naturally, the coast path has some more challenging sections, but we will ensure that the group is available to people of all abilities. We’ll take the walk at your pace, and can offer alternatives to those who have additional requirements.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us using the button below.
Unless otherwise stated, the walk will start and end in the National Trust Car Park in Port Quin, PL293SU.
If you will have problems getting to us, please get in touch and we will see if we can help with transport.
Thursday on the Beach
MARCH 2026 DATES
12th March 1.30pm-3.30pm
19th March 1.30pm-3.30pm
26th March 1.30pm-3.30pm
Like all beaches everywhere, beautiful Port Quin is awash with ocean waste. The strandline is clogged with macro- and micro-plastics, clothing, ghost gear and other waste related to the fishing industry.
In our Thursday on the Beach sessions, we will pick up as much of this waste as we can, identify it, report it and recycle as much of it as possible. What may seem like a small action can have a direct and immediate positive impact on marine wildlife and the marine and coastal environment.
If time and tide allows, we can also spend some time beach combing for treasures like sea glass, and we can uncover some of the extraordinary species that have adapted to survive the extremes of the intertidal zone.
Port Quin beach is accessible to most, and we can definitely accommodate adventurous wheelchair users!

Port Quin
Port Quin is a historic fishing village which lies between Polzeath and Port Isaac on the North Cornwall Coast.
There is only one road in and out of the village, and the National Trust car park is the only large open area.
